Social and competition lawn bowls are played on the Club’s two natural grass (tift dwarf) playing surfaces, better known as 'The Greens'. Maclean Bowling Club’s greens cater to players of all abilities and the Club has a strong history and association with lawn bowls

dating back to 1929 when the Club opened.

The Club hosts several major bowls tournaments throughout the year,

in addition to an extensive Club Championship Program and social bowls calendar of events.

Maclean Highlanders Travelling Bowlers

The Maclean Highlanders is the Maclean Bowling Club’s social travelling bowls sub-club.

Membership is $5 to join with social visits from other Clubs as well as trips away.

Latest Bowls News As at Tuesday, 24th February 2026 Men’s and Ladies Pennants are at about the halfway point of their seasons and the ladies side has had two wins and two losses and will be hitting the road for the next couple of weeks. Get around and support them. The men's sides see Div 3, up the top of the table with 2 wins and a loss and Div 4 with alot of new bowlers playing pennants for the first time, a win is not far away for these guys. Social bowls is still being played at 9am Wednesday and Fridays as well as the Jackpot Pairs on Wednesday evenings. No social bowls on Tuesday and Thursday until Pennants is completed. Wednesday evenings is Jackpot Pairs or social bowls at 6pm. Entries close 5pm Wednesdays and the entry fee is $10 per person. Dress is mufti and the jackpot is only available if we have 12 or more bowlers each week - so come along and have a bowl on a Wednesday evening! We have just announced the first ladies tournament of the year. So please check out the poster on the website for more information and their is plenty more tournament action being prepared in the background so be ready! Plenty happening on the greens at Maclean Bowling Club!
